Meet the Founder of Upper Thornhill Dental Care

My name is Dr. John Ro, and I am the owner of Upper Thornhill Dental Care. I have been practising dentistry for 15 years. The path to my career stemmed from a passion to help people with oral care.

At Upper Thornhill Dental Care, we pride ourselves in ensuring that our patients feel warmly cared for and that all treatment options have been thoroughly explored and explained. Our philosophy is: Treat patients as if they are our family and approach each one with gentle and empathetic care. I run my practice based on respect, empathy, integrity and excellence.

In terms of how business today compares to years ago, I would have to say that technology has been one of the concrete changes to dentistry. Innovation of technology in dentistry, such as CBCT, 3D printing, guided implant surgeries, same day crowns, and Invisalign – clear braces, are all services that have been greatly advanced.

I like to take a personalized approach to their dental care that also empowers them with the knowledge and skills to maintain their oral health. At my practice we pride ourselves in ensuring that our patients feel warmly cared for and that all treatment options have been thoroughly explored and explained.

The most satisfying moments I have is when I have had a positive impact on patient’s lives by restoring their smiles. They are so grateful and tell me how my work has changed them. I truly believe that the way you care for your teeth tells a lot about you. As David Galler, an extremely well-known Invisalign provider and educator once said- “A Healthy Smile enables a person to reach their Maximum Potential in Life”.

During my downtime from work, I have various hobbies and sports that I like to partake in. Golf, skiing/snowboarding, scuba diving, and travel, are amongst some of the ways I spend my free time.
